1981 Pontiac Bonneville

A Stunning Car
J. J. Best Banc & Co.

The Pontiac Bonneville was an automobile built by Pontiac from 1957 to 2005. Bonnevilles were full-sized, with the exception of a brief period of mid-size between 1982-86. The brand was introduced as a limited production performance convertible during the 1957 model year. The Bonneville (known as the Parisienne in Canada until 1981), and its platform partner, the Grand Ville, are some of the largest Pontiacs ever built. For 1980, all GM B-bodies received revised styling and aerodynamic improvements along with reduced weight.

This sixth generation of Pontiac Bonneville with production from 1977 to 1981 continued to downsize this model including a 14-inch shorter body, making it 800 lbs. lighter. With increased headroom and rear seat legroom the fuel efficiency was much improved. With this lighter body and styling, aerodynamic improvements were also made. This Bonneville coupe has a 301 cubic V8 engine with only 29,000 original miles. 1981 was the last year for this 2-door coupe.

Needless to say, the car is in excellent condition. It spent its entire life in the south and was never subjected to any inclement weather. All gauges work as they should as does the air conditioning, all lights and the horn. This car has no stories and will be perfect for the individual who lusts over one of the last large Bonneville coupes.
