1959 Cadillac Coupe de Ville

first year for those iconic fins
J. J. Best Banc & Co.

The 1959 Cadillac has always been memorable with its classic tailfins with dual taillights. In 1959 the de Ville models became series 6300; all Cadillacs of this year shared the same 130-inch wheelbase with a 390 cu in engine with 325 horsepower for sheer power. They also brought a touch of class with script nameplates on the rear fenders, and it was the first year for those iconic fins.

This before-its-time beauty is the first of the Big Fins. Standard feature muscle as well as safety with front power disc brakes, rear drum brakes, power steering, automatic transmission, wheel discs, new dual exhaust and back-up lamps. For comfort and added luxury, there are two-speed windshield wipers, an outside rearview mirror, a vanity mirror, power windows and six-way power seats. Serious flash comes from the huge, sharp tailfins and the dual bullet taillights as well as the jewel-like grille.

This car is exactly as it was ordered from the factory with a new gas tank, shocks, springs and bushings. There’s no feeling quite like driving a classic Coupe de Ville.
