1964 Lincoln

J. J. Best Banc & Co.

The 4th generation Lincoln Continental was only available as a four door convertible or a four door sedan. For the first time since 1951, the rear doors were rear-hinged. (Suicide doors) The dashboard was fitted with a “door ajar” warning light. This Continental model was the first and last four door convertible from a major American manufacturer after WWII. This Continental has a fabric roof that is power operated from the dashboard and is stored under the rear-hinged trunk lid. To access the trunk for storage, the trunk lid opens electronically without raising or lowering the roof. The 1964 Lincoln was substantially larger than previous model years. Leg room was increased by 4 inches. Knee room gained 2.5 inches and the usable trunk capacity increased by 15%. 1964 was the first year for individually adjustable steering column, linear instrument panel and squared off upper rear door glass angle. All electrical works on this stunning original color Rose Metallic convertible with Rose Beige leather matching interior.

Collectors of these easy recognizable cars love them and the Lincoln Continental Club is active in many parts of the country. This Lincoln recently had a full frame restoration. The leather matching interior is flawless as is the chrome. Tour completed in “ March 2019” It travels smoothly down the road with no wheel vibrations. The steering is tight and the shocks seem as new.
