1983 Datsun 280ZX Turbo  "all original"

J. J. Best Banc & Co.

The Datsun 280ZX coupe was introduced in 1979 with its familiar long hood and fastback profile, along with the hood bulge and sugar-scoop headlamp buckets. Then in the early 1980s, the Z car was completely redesigned with a turbocharger to create the 280ZX Turbo. This sports car classic is all original, inside and out.The engine is a L28E 2.8-liter inline 6-cylinder with 180 horsepower, and the transmission has a Borg-Warner T-5 5-speed manual gearbox with power rack and pinion that was a new feature for the 280ZX Turbo. All work seamlessly to ensure the driver not only speed and power on the straightaways but superior handling on the curves. The optional two-tone exterior of Silver Mist Gray and gray metallic gleams, testament to the fact that this 280ZX has never been exposed to bad weather and doesn’t have a speck of rust. For fun, the fastback has a removable panel T-top. The butter-smooth gray leather interior -- an upgrade from cloth -- is spotless, and the color of the cut pile carpet coordinates perfectly with the door panels, headliner and dash. This Turbo is luxuriously appointed with power door locks, factory AC, cruise control, rear window defroster and a Blaupunkt AM/FM cassette custom stereo system with power antenna. Even more unique, the steering wheel has an art-deco feel with A-shaped spokes. All gauges on the dash are in good working order, including a digital clock, oil pressure and temperature gauges and boost gauges (the last two unique to this 280ZX). The four wheeled disc brakes are standard equipment with alloy wheels, and the 205/60R 15-inch Goodyear tires are brand-new as of September 2019.

While this is a definite, all-original classic, it has only 46,310 original miles and is ready to hit the road with its new owner. It is a two-tone beauty, which we do not often find.
