1956 Ford Fairlane Town Sedan

J. J. Best Banc & Co.

Named for Fair Lane, Henry Ford’s estate near Dearborn, Michigan, the Ford Fairlane was offered between 1955 and 1970. It replaced the Crestline as Ford's premier, full-sized car in 1955, and all six Fairlane body styles featured the trademark stainless-steel Fairlane stripe.

Completely restored by the last owner, this stunning two-tone Ford is a real eye-catcher . . . there’s no better look to represent the classic 50s era. Even better, the former owner added dual exhaust Cherry Bomb glasspack mufflers, creating a sweet rumble when cruising down the road.

The 292 cu in V8 Thunderbird engine runs flawlessly and travels the road quietly at 70 mph with no shimmy whatsoever. The steering is tight for a precise, responsive drive.

Finished in Buckskin Tan and white, it’s a hit at every car show. The paint is flawless, as is the chrome and stainless. The matching dark brown metallic and white pleated interior has been trimmed to perfection.

All the gauges are crisp. The painted dash is beautiful, and all of the glass, stainless and rubber are flawless. The undercarriage is original, showing some wear but no rust. The engine compartment and trunk are tidy with no evidence of rust under the trunk mat. There is a bit of overspray on the middle of the frame as evidently it was not masked thoroughly when painted.

Completing the classic look, this Fairlane sports new Coker whitewalls with shiny full-wheel discs. The previous owner believes the 27,000 mileage is original. Also included is the original owner's manual.
