Sporting a Fleetwood body, this lovely 1941 Cadillac Sixty Special Sedan has toured extensively with CCCA Caravans and has been kept in excellent mechanical condition. Recent service included a completely new braking system, master cylinder, new wheel cylinders and refreshed fluids. It also benefitted from new paint and upholstery several years ago. The gray wool broadcloth is a bit tired but is certainly comfortable and serviceable with no holes or tears. The door panels and back of the front seat appear to be original and in nice condition. All doors open and close well, and all body panels look straight, suggesting there have been no accidents. The under carriage is a bit dirty with evidence of surface rust. Floors and rocker panels look solid. There is a bit of delamination around the windows, and some of the weather stripping shows wear. Still, all the gauges are crisp and in good working order. All lights, including turn signals, fog lights and spotlight work as they should, as do the interior and courtesy lights in the rear compartment. The chrome and window are in nice condition with no pitting, except for the grill which shows slight pitting. In addition, the last owner installed seat belts, both in the front and rear. While this treasured auto may need some cosmetic work, it can’t be beat as one that will satisfy mechanically. Engaging a strong 346 cu in V8 engine and Diamond Back radials to enhance the ride, there are no noises or vibrations traveling down the road at 65 mph. This car starts up immediately and drives as well as any car we’ve tested. If necessary, there is an electric fuel pump that can be used to start the car if it’s been sitting for a while. This Sixty Special is a wonderful Full Classic ready for touring or taking the family for a Sunday drive . . . and at a great price. As a favorite on Classic Car Club tours, it’s sure to be a crowd-pleaser wherever you roam. Where can you find more excitement than sitting behind the wheel and looking out at that long hood with the elegant Flying Lady leading the way?
