This 1959 Alfa Romeo 2000 Spider was originally sold in California, where it remained in a Northern California collection for approximately 25 years before being transported to Hungary for a comprehensive three-year restoration completed in 2016. Power is provided by a replacement 2.0-liter twin-cam inline-four paired with a five-speed manual transmission. The car is finished in white over a red interior and is equipped with 400mm steel wheels, finned drum brakes, twin Solex carburetors, a black convertible soft top with a matching red boot, and a period transistor radio. The replacement 2.0-liter DOHC inline-four, produced in 1961, features a cast-iron block, aluminum cylinder head with hemispherical combustion chambers, and twin Solex carburetors. Recent service in June 2025 included rebuilding the carburetors, replacing ignition components, and adjusting timing and points. The engine block stamping AR0020403439 corresponds to a 1961-produced 2.0-liter unit. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission with synchromesh on all forward gears. A replacement exhaust silencer was installed in June 2025.
