CollectorsNotes
The car received a multi-year, body-off-the-frame restoration completed in 2016 and has traveled fewer than 1,000 miles since, remaining in exceptional cosmetic and mechanical condition. on February 11, 1959, the car was delivered new to Hoffman Motor Car Company in New York and retained its original Touring Spider configuration. It was reportedly used sparingly and preserved with great care for decades, remaining solid and highly original with under 70,000 miles when rediscovered in the 1980s. For roughly 30
years it remained largely untouched, admired for its originality and structural integrity.
A Northern California–based owner later commissioned an extensive restoration beginning
in 2013, addressing every major aspect of the car’s cosmetic and mechanical condition.
Following completion, the Alfa became part of The Passport Collection, where it continued
to be properly preserved and maintained. Under current ownership, the Spider was
professionally recommissioned after its period of limited use, receiving thoughtful
mechanical sorting to ensure dependable, confident road performance.
